Youth Pilgrimage to Italy: The Year of Faith

Two date options: June 27 - July 6, or June 27 - July 11 2013.

This October, Pope Benedict XVI has called all Catholics to celebrate

“The Year of Faith”

The Year of Faith is intended to contribute to a renewed conversion to the Lord Jesus and to the rediscovery of faith, so that the members of the Church will be credible and joy-filled witnesses to the Risen Lord in the world of today.

At the invitation of Pope Benedict XVI, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has made several recommendations for the faithful to encounter Christ. One of them being:

“In the Year of Faith pilgrimages of the faithful to the See of Peter are to be encouraged, to profess faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, in unity with him who today is called to confirm his brothers and sisters in the faith (cfr. Lk 22:32)”

The Diocese of Cheyenne would like to extend this special invitation to any high school or college aged student, to join us on our

“The Year of Faith”

pilgrimage to the See of Peter with Bishop Paul Etienne.

You must be at least entering your Freshman year of High School in the Fall of 2013 to attend.

This pilgrimage experience will include daily Mass at different locations around Assisi, Rome and the Amalfi Coast daily Catechesis sessions on what it means to be a Catholic, the opportunity to pray at the tombs of St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Francis, St. Clare, St. Cecelia, Blessed Pope John Paul II and so many more. The opportunity to spend time in prayer with Pope Benedict XVI, as we will be requesting tickets to the Papal Mass on the Feast of St. Peter and Paul, the Wednesday Audience and the Angelus.

This is not a “trip” to Rome! This is a pilgrimage to the Holy See.

“a journey, especially a long one, made to some sacred place as an act of religious devotion”.

You will encounter Christ. You will be changed. You will want to share it with others.
