Matthew N. Potter, CFP®, CIMA®, Director of Development
Email: mpotter@dioceseofcheyenne.org
Before coming to work for the Diocese of Cheyenne in February, 2010, Matt spent 23 years in the investment business, the last ten as owner of an investment advisory and consulting firm in Cheyenne. He is a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified Investment Management Analyst.
Matt's primary responsibilities with the Diocese are in the areas of fundraising, stewardship and investment management. He spends a great deal of time on the road, visiting with members of the Diocese and encouraging them to be fully engaged in their Church through lives of prayer, service and financial resources. He sees his work not as a job, but as an answer to a call by the Holy Spirit, a true ministry. His favorite verse from the Bible is from Matthew's Gospel, Chapter 9 verse 9:
As Jesus passed by, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the customs post. He said to him, "Follow me." And he got up and followed him.
Matt has been married to his wife Sherry for 29 years. They have two adult daughters and became first-time grandparents in September.
