7. Pastor’s overview of the decade.

This past decade we at Holy Trinity parish have tried to be a more welcoming parish. We have accomplished this through help of our Parish Council by instituting various welcoming ministries.

Our Greeter/Host Bearer ministry welcomes people at the entrance to the vestibule. At the beginning of each Mass we welcome small children into the sanctuary where after a Blessing they proceed to a special room to participate in the Liturgy of the Word for Children. They return at the presentation of the Gifts.

Under the able direction of Sr. Therese Steiner, we have developed a vibrant Small Christian Communities ministry.

Also, we have tried to be more sensitive to parishioners by acknowledging them through cards of friendships and sympathy as well as supplying them with family oriented materials.

We also stepped out in faith by becoming more community service minded in regards to assisting the homeless through Comea Dinner Nights; monthly collections for the needy and only recently committed our parish to become involved with Interfaith Hospitality Network - a national coalition for the homeless; -Kids Who Care- program involves our Religious Education students donating service to the community; contributing to home building through staff and youth involvement with Habitat for Humanity. We hope we can continue being a welcoming parish into the new millennium.
