Upcoming Meetings You are cordially invited to attend this year's second gathering of the WSCT alumni from your area, and to participate in a small group conversation on the general theme of restoring Catholic Culture. Each meeting listed above will be held from 8:30 to Noon. Lunch will be on your own, although it would be a good time to have lunch with other alumni of the School and continue developing your personal interconnections throughout the Diocese. As you know already, these conversation groups are part of the plan for maintaining contact with School alumni and facilitating educational discussions on the School's objective of restoring Catholic Culture. The method selected is for everyone to read the same book, one half per meeting, and then use that book as a spring-board for our conversations, which will be led by Dr. Carlson and either Fr. Bob Cook or Fr. Drew Duncan. Again, as a reminder, the book that was chosen is the classic Italian novel, The Betrothed, by Alessandro Manzoni. Those who attended our first meeting in November thought that it was a wonderful work of art. Be assured that you may attend this meeting even if you did not attend the first meeting. I believe that you will greatly benefit just by this meeting alone because it will help you to understand more about how to read great literature and find its application to your life as a Catholic. Also, you are invited to bring a guest or two to this meeting. Of course it would be best if they had read the book. Bringing a guest is an excellent way of connecting new people to our efforts to restore Catholic Culture. We ask you to obtain the book for yourself and we recommend that you do so immediately so that you have sufficient time to read it.
